A season that unfolds, the moment when the day turns dark or the rain forms shapes on the window – such are the ranges of emotions drawn from music for a complete sensory experience. In turn radiant or intimate, welcoming or nostalgic, fall is transformed depending on the whim of storms. Flamboyant colors burn our retinas for an instant and the next day grayness surrounds us in a cocoon making us turn inward to draw buried memories from inside ourselves and prolong them thanks to the beauty of certain musical works. The assumed nostalgia of
Chopin,
Ravel and
Glazunov, the latent sadness of
Hahn and
Duparc,
Saint-Saëns’ staggered humor,
Beethoven’s power and
Piazzolla’s exacerbation of the senses become the different facets of this season with its multiple tones.
