After graduating from McGill University, Claire Guimond studied baroque flute with Barthold Kuijken, obtaining a certificate from the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. In 1981, along with three other Montréal musicians, Chantal Rémillard, Betsy MacMillan and Hank Knox, she founded Arion, whose popular regular season concerts continue to grace the city’s musical life. With Arion, Claire Guimond has toured extensively in Europe, Canada, Mexico and the United States, and has made several recordings, including De Paris à Versailles, Mythologie, Conversations en musique, three of Telemann’s Quatuors parisiens, and Bach’s Musical Offering.
