Violinist David Lefèvre is hailed for his talent, passion and musical versatility. Violinist David Lefèvre is hailed for his talent, passion and musical versatility. David Lefèvre is a regular guest on the French and international scenes; he was heard at festivals such as Besançon, the Domaine Forget International Festival, the Printemps des Arts of Monte-Carlo, the Alghero Festival in Sardinia and the Budapest Spring Festival. He has recently made his debut at New York’s Carnegie Hall. He has been artistic director of the Val d’Isère MusicaVal Chamber Music Festival since 1996.

While pursuing his solo and chamber music career, David Lefèvre was Principal Concertmaster with the Orchestre national du Capitole de Toulouse from 1993 to 1999. He is currently holding the same position with the Orchestre philharmonique de Monte-Carlo and is Guest Concertmaster of the Lisbon Gulbenkian Orchestra. From 1996 to 2006, David Lefèvre was a Professor at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique (C.N.S.M.) in Paris. He has been teaching at the Nice International Summer Academy since 2000 and the French Youth Orchestra since 2003.

After a First Prize with honours at the Conservatoire de musique in Montreal, he was among the very few musicians to be awarded for three consecutives years one of the most important scholarships from the Canada Council for the Arts. He then pursued further studies at the C.N.S.M. in Paris. David Lefèvre was the winner of the Premier Grand Prix at the Douai international violin competition in 1993. He currently plays a magnificent Dalla Costa violin dating from 1745.
