Born in Québec and a gratuate of the Université Laval, André Chiasson has studied the flute with Guy Vanasse and choral conducting with Chantale Masson-Bourque and Jean-François Sénart. Since the early 80s, André Chiasson performs both as flutist and choral conductor. From 1980 to 1983, he was a member of l’Ensemble de flûtes contemporain of composer François Morel. He also teaches flute in a number of institutions of the Québec City region. In March of 1987, André Chiasson was chosen as music director of the Chœur Les Rhapsodes, giving the chorus a new and dynamic artistic purpose. With the chorus, André Chiasson has explored the diversity of the choral repertoire with great success.
