Principal cellist of the chamber orchestra Les Violons du Roy, Benoit Loiselle also performs as soloist and chamber musician. A graduate of the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal where he studied with Denis Brott, he has also worked with Antonio Lysy at McGill University. Winner of the 1999 Prix d’Europe, he furthered his training at the International Menuhin Academy in Switzerland with Radu Aldulescu. As soloist, he has appeared with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, Les Violons du Roy and the Orchestre métropolitain du Grand-Montréal. Benoit Loiselle plays on the 1824 McConnell Gagliano, on loan from the Canada Council.
