Ingrid Schmithüsen is a devoted performer of lied, oratorio, and chamber music ranging from the Renaissance to works by living composers. She studied singing at the Music Conservatory in Cologne with Prof. Gregory Foley and with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau in Berlin. Her vast repertoire and scope of expressive qualities are brought to light in an impressive collection so far exceeding 50 recordings, including collaborations with Philippe Herreweghe, Sigiswald Kuijken, and Karl Friedrich Beringer. Concert tours led Ms. Schmithüsen throughout Europe, North and South America, Asia, and Australia. She also has been invited as a guest artist, participating in international events such as The Vienna Festival, the Melbourne Music Festival, The Ars Musica (Brussels), The Beethovenfest (Bonn), and Présences Festival (Paris).
