Linda Bouchard, born in 1957, works both as a composer and a conductor. In 1977, she went to the United States to study with Henry Brant, and later moved to New York, where she stayed until 1991. She has composed over 50 works which have been performed and recorded on both sides of the Atlantic. From 1992 to 1995, she was Composer-in-Residence at the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa. In June of 1996, the National Arts Centre Orchestra premiered her new ballet at the Dance Canada Festival. At the end of that same month, she conducted her latest work, Pilgrim’s Cantata, at the Oregon Bach Festival. In the summer of 1996, she also completed a piece for the Kronos Quartet.Linda Bouchard now lives in San Francisco. .
