Skye Consort was formed in 1999 and since then has toured and participated in music festivals and concert series across eastern Canada and the United States. The group’s goal is to bring art-music aesthetic and interest to the music of different world traditions. Arranger Seán Dagher selects vocal and instrumental pieces and gives them fresh life in contemporary arrangements, exploiting the sound of their unique blend of instruments: violin, cello, double bass, and cittern. These instruments have been supplemented on occasion by viola da gamba, percussion, flute, and hurdy-gurdy.
